A day van for all seasons
BCA to sell classic low mileage 1978 Toyota Lite Ace day van
Friday 2nd September, BCA Glasgow
Leading vehicle marketplace, BCA, is selling a rare classic day van in time warp condition this Friday (2nd September) at its Glasgow centre.
The 1978 Toyota Lite Ace 6 seater day van had just one owner from new to May 2015 – and has covered just 86,000 Km (53,000 miles) in its lifetime. Finished in white with grey trim, it is thought to be the only example of the model currently in the UK.
Originally bought and driven by the first owner in Hong Kong, it was shipped to Piraeus in Greece a year later. A whistle-stop 6 week tour of Europe followed, visiting Yugoslavia, Albania, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, France and then onto the UK. It then stayed in the UK with the same owner for the next 37 years until May 2015.
Known by the owner’s family as 'Latisha', this classic of the 1970s was used for family holidays and day trips and has been well maintained throughout its life. As a result it is original time warp condition and comes complete with original keys, wheel jack and tools, manuals and a box of scarce spare parts, as well as workshop repair publications.
“This well preserved van has been in private ownership throughout its lifetime and offers a great opportunity to buy something a little different for family motoring”, said Tim Naylor, Editor of the BCA Used Car Market Report. “It has been little used over the years, mainly for summer driving and family days out, meaning it is offered for sale in excellent condition, promising its next owner some real retro driving fun.”
The sale is set to start at 10.30am on Friday 2nd September at BCA Glasgow 999 Royston Road, Provanmill, Glasgow G21 2AA
